OIL SLICK Set: Wrist & Finger Spikey Set 3 pack
Three Spikey tools in one set, now in Oil Slick. This set includes one Oil Slick Wrist Spikey, one Oil Slick Standard Finger Spikey and one Oil Slick Tighter Finger Spikey.
The Kaiko Spikey range is discreet, quiet and designed for people who benefit from strong, focused sensory input. The stretchy woven metal provides firm tactile feedback and is commonly used for regulation, picking support and harm minimisation. For some people, it provides a safer safe ouch or “hurt without harm” option when they are seeking intense input.
The Oil Slick finish is created by electroplating the woven carbon steel. No two pieces look exactly the same, so colour placement and tone will naturally vary from piece to piece.
Please watch the Spikey video before use. The most effective technique for achieving stronger “ouch” input, particularly for harm minimisation, is often not the most obvious way to use it.
Wrist Spikey: ways to use
- Press & twist: while wearing it on the wrist, press with the other hand and twist, similar to a Chinese burn. This technique has been particularly helpful for some people seeking an alternative to self-harm.
- Roll: roll it up and down the arm for firm, focused input.
- Rub: rub between both palms for scratchy tactile input.
- Fidget & stim: hold it in one or both hands and manipulate it.
- Flick: wear it on the wrist, ankle or even at the elbow and flick it. At the elbow this can create a tingling sensation.
- Clench: wear it across the palm and clench, squeeze or pulse the hand.
- Picking replacement: rub it on areas such as the fingers, lips or feet when seeking an alternative sensation to picking.
Finger Spikeys: ways to use
- Roll up and down a finger using the same or opposite hand. This can be especially useful for focus and concentration.
- Wear at the base of a finger, often the middle finger, then squeeze or clench the fist for stronger input.
- Rub between the palms for a scratchy sensation.
- Hold and manipulate as a small finger fidget.
- Twist around the finger with the thumb, varying the pressure to change the intensity.
- Wear around the middle of the pointer finger and use the thumbnail to “pick” at the side as an alternative movement for picking urges.
The Standard and Tighter Finger Spikeys provide two different levels of input, making the set useful for exploring preference as well as changing needs across the day.
Choosing the wrist size
Wrist Spikey sizing is about how you want to use it, not just wrist measurement. Smaller sizes provide more compression when rolled. For twisting and pressing while worn, the intensity comes mainly from the pressure applied with the other hand, so a comfortable wearable size is usually the better choice.
- Small Set: 12.5 cm unstretched internal circumference. Best for stronger compression when rolling. For many adults this is an “use it, then take it off” size rather than all-day wear.
- Large Set: 17 cm. Often suitable for all-day wear for younger users or petite wrists.
- Large Plus a Bit Set: 18 cm. Often a good all-day option for youth and average-sized wrists.
- XL Set: 20.5 cm. Often the most comfortable all-day size for teens and adults with larger wrists.
If wearing the Wrist Spikey for any length of time, it should not band, restrict or compromise circulation. Monitor the skin and remove it if there is any concern. If unsure which size best fits the intended use, please contact us and we are happy to help.
What people use Spikeys for
Spikeys are commonly used to support self-regulation, calming, focus, concentration, tactile awareness, skin-picking reduction and as a substitution for unhelpful or unsafe sensory-seeking behaviours, including NSSH. Customers have also reported them being helpful for disturbed sensation or pain in the arms and muscles. Some people use the firm tactile input for acupressure-style stimulation or circulation awareness. For a health condition or specific therapeutic use, please check with your treating clinician.
Spikeys can be a useful tool in a broader support kit, but they do not replace professional help or treatment.
Care & helpful to know
- The Spikeys are stretchy but firm and made from expandable woven carbon steel with an electroplated Oil Slick finish.
- If a wrist size needs a little more room, it can be gently stretched section by section. Overstretching permanently changes the shape and rebound and cannot be undone.
- They are durable in normal use, but are not designed for rigorous pulling, twisting or testing their limits. They may not suit someone who tends to pull products apart.
- Finger Spikeys are not designed to be repeatedly twisted back and forth on themselves. This can open the join, and once separated they are usually not able to be reconnected. Damage from overstretching or twisting beyond intended use is not a manufacturing fault.
- The Oil Slick colour can wear or fade over time, particularly with frequent contact with hand sanitiser, creams or similar products.
- A storage container is included.
Customer experiences
“Really helpful and very subtle so i can calm myself at work and in public without worrying about questions. So grateful for this site.” — Sue, 2025
“Discreet enough that it looks like a scrunchy or bracelet, it makes it easy to wear to work. I am finding it super helpful during the day for a deeper sensory input, and it has reduced my skin picking when at work. Love it!” — Isabella K, Aug 2023
“Absolutely love the spikey rings and bracelet. Bought them to hopefully stop skin picking around my nails (as you can see, my thumb is red raw) and I’m extremely impressed. They provide a very satisfying sensation with the perfect amount of discomfort, and rolling them creates a similar movement to picking which satisfies the compulsion. My cat also approves of the products - she pulled the free gift straight out of the box and has been carrying it in her mouth everywhere she goes. So a big thank you from the both of us!” — Ella Y, March 2025
“These spikeys are amazing and I wish they had been invented decades ago.” — Elizabeth S, Sept 2023
“Perfect for my older kid to help them avoid picking at their fingers or pulling on their hair. Works a treat.” — Coralie, July 2023
“The Kaiko Finger Spikey is amazing. I'm prone to anxious picky at my nails, fingers, hands, and lip and this has been a great fidget to distract me from this and also replace the sensory seeking due to the pain element and feedback on my skin. I love that I don't end up with broken skin and it is finally giving my nails a chance to grow back properly. Stellar job guys!” — Sarah M, July 2023
