NECKLACE Caterpillar by Kaiko

These are an awesome wearable sensory tool, feel amazing to use & look good with anything. Roll the beads between fingers whilst wearing it.   Wearable sensory tools are often most effective as the hand starts to use them often before we consciously register we need it, helping assist with regulation.

The weighted stainless steel beads roll between fingers beautifully. Many rub the cord also. This fidget is super soft in effect.   You can push your fingers in between the beads for a similar sensation to the pea popper.

It is particularly great for those that stim with fabric, Blu-Tack rollers or like low sensory input as it glides between the fingers & is very calming. It is small, discreet and quiet. Given it is a quiet fidget, it makes it ideal for the workplace, travel or the classroom.

"I'm so glad your fidgets are durable. I've accidentally put my caterpillar fidget through the washing machine twice and the dryer once now because I keep forgetting it's in my work shirt pocket. 😅🤣 I absolutely adore my caterpillar fidget the first time I used it, I cried because of the instant relief it gave me.Please keep doing what you are doing because it helps so many people.  Samantha may 2024"

"I am a recluse but forced myself to go to a comedy show (1st trigger leaving the house). I was running late (2nd trigger). Had to park a bit away so had to walk really fast (3rd trigger). By the time we got to the venue where there were heaps of people (final trigger) I was really struggling with anxiety/panic. I couldn't get my breath. It was awful. What saved me? This hand caterpillar I had slipped in my pocket before leaving the house. I don't leave the house without one after that experience. Something I HIGHLY recommend. THANK YOU! Bec October 2023"

"One of my favourite anxiety fidgets. I love how easy it is to put over my head(don't need to around with a clasp). Convenient hands free only when ii need to fidget with it. So smooth. I get many compliments about it. Only wish I could choose my rainbow colours otherwise it would be a 5 star! Perfect tool. Rachel Oct 2023"

"A really helpful gadget for self soothing. I’m a hair twirler which was obsessive at times, so this is a healthier alternative and truly works for me. Aliesha K July 2023"

"I love these and have several. Good for a ‘fidget’ which looks professional and not childish. I can wear it like jewellery or like a lanyard (with a clip) for everyday, and also for meetings or formal occasions when I want if need to be discreet or appear to blend in - especially if it’s tense and I need a non self-injurious way to manage panic and distress, and to help me focus. Necklace/lanyard style means I can almost have it to hand when I need it, even if I don’t have pockets or am without my bag.  Aug 2023"

These have been effective for those who

  • hair twirl or pulling
  • stim with fabric
  • roll Blu-Tac (NOTE : SPEKS range also helpful to replace this also)
  • love squishies and soft sensory input
  • also wonderful for decreasing agitation.

They come in one size that will fit all but can easily be shortened to the wearer's preferred length (see below). They have a break away clasp for safety if pulled & come in a storage container.

 To shorten necklace:

Simply cut and retie knot at each end to the desired length & pull knot back into the casing of the clasp. We find the easiest way to find optimum length is to have arms at right angle across belly. The bead length should be about at this height.

Kaiko Fidget sensory tools can assist with...

  • Supporting mental health
  • Emotional regulation & sensory input
  • Focus & concentration - great study or work tool
  • Tactile awareness & desensitisation
  • Hand function – improving fine motor, strength & circulation
  • Active listening - can increase focus & attention
  • Reducing unhelpful habits - such as nail biting, tapping, hair twirling, pen clicking & leg bouncing etc.
  • Sensory seeking substitution - finding a more socially acceptable outlet for sensory preferences

Keeping the fidgets sanitised. - They are fine to wipe , ours regularly go through washing machine, the trick is to wipe excess moisture off them. If left wet/damp (eg in washing machine lol) they can rust in appearance a little but generally does not affect function. wiping with an antibacterial wipe or damp cloth then drying off thoroughly is the key.

Please note they are made using cord that can frey over time due to friction.  This is wear and tear and cannot be avoided.  The time this takes to occur can depend on how the fidget is used.

Keep out of reach of children under three years old as the beads can pose a choking hazard.
